Hats off to a great man

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Erich Kunzel today.  He was a great champion for classical music in America, and a wonderful supporter of the next generation of musicians. He was truly one of From the Top’s role models. We feel very fortunate to have collaborated with him and his incredible Cincinnati Pops Orchestra this year.

Christopher O’Riley said, “I was proud to have been a part of his last Telarc recording, along with some exceptionally talented kids, who have no doubt been spoiled prematurely by working with a conductor of such grace, wit and generosity.”

The Cincinnati Pops has launched a memorial web site to Maestro Kunzel. Our heartfelt sympathies to his family and colleagues.
