From the Top Receives Award at Mass. State House

CL-BiancaGarcia1From the Top was honored today by the National Arts Learning Collaborative (NALC)  and the Massachusetts Arts Education Collaborative (MAEC) with the “Media Support for Arts Education Award,” presented at the Massachusetts State House in Boston. We are proud to be among the many wonderful advocates for arts education to be honored during this event. In addition to receiving an award, From the Top alumni and members of our Boston Crew, Rainer Crosett and Julia Glenn, performed during the ceremony.

We have great respect for the other awardees and their work in supporting arts learning opportunities for young people in our home state of Massachusetts. They are: Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Mayor of Cambridge, MA Denise Simmons, Kidspace at MASS MoCA, Ann McQueen of the Boston Foundation, Kevin Coleman of Shakespeare & Co., Leslie MacWeeny of Dot Art, Covidien, Lurline Munoz-Bennett of the Mass. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, John Michael Gray formerly with the Newton, MA Public Schools, the late Dennis Wren, Rosalba Solis of the Rafael Hernandez School in Boston, and high school students Jay Cottle and Ashley Leuci.
