From the Top Alums Awarded at International Guitar Competition

It’s been a successful year for From the Top alumni – every time we open our email, there’s another piece of great news!

This time the update came from young guitarist Thomas Pfefer who was featured on Show 224 in Bethlehem, PA. Thomas was recently awarded 1st Prize in the Junior Division of the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition! In addition to a cash prize, Thomas received gift certificates to go towards guitar care.

The Guitar Foundation of America (GFA), based in Texas, annually holds this prestigious competition, which also includes a Senior division and attracts young and upcoming guitarists from all over the world. Two other From the Top alumni received prizes in this competition – in the Senior Division Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist John Marcel Williams (Show 232 in College Park, MD) won 2nd Place and Chaconne Klaverenga (Show 194 in Buffalo, NY) won 3rd Place.
