Years ago a 13-year-old pianist from Centrailia, Washington wowed us with a performance of Taccotta by Gian Carlo Menotti. Now 21, Charlie Albright has won both the coveted 2010 Gilmore Young Artist Award and the 2009 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and is preparing to make his debut in the Young Concert Artist Series in New York and Washington, DC.

This November, Charlie takes to the stage as part of the Irving S. Gilmore Rising Stars Series where he’ll perform selections from Menotti, Beethoven, and Chopin.

In May 2011 Charlie will perform Piano Concerto No. 2 in F major, Opus 102 by Dmitri Shostakovich with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra and guest conductor Larry Isaacson.

It seems like his career is exploding – great work, Charlie!
