Alum Umi Garrett Helps Japan with Benefit Concert

Young From the Top alum and pianist Umi Garrett, age 10 (Shows 211 and 217) is putting on a charity concert next week to raise money for the crisis in Japan.

Umi’s “Help Japan” concert will be Friday, April 8 at 7:30pm at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Westport, Connecticut. Umi will perform with two other young pianists, Christine Xu, age 15, and Alex Beyer, age 16.

There’s more information about the concert on Umi’s “Help Japan” Facebook page. Umi says, “This charity concert is very important to me because it will help many people suffering in Japan. I want to help even one person who is in Japan suffering. I am very glad that I can help people in need with music.”
