Alum Alice Ivy-Pemberton Raises Money for Haiti

From the Top alum and violinist Alice Ivy-Pemberton (Show #174 in Boston, Massachusetts) recently raised a couple thousand dollars for schools in Haiti!

Alice gave a solo benefit recital at the Grace Episcopal Church in Amherst, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 21. The concert raised almost $2,000 for St. Matthew’s School in Bayonnais, Haiti – enough to pay the teachers’ salaries for an entire year!

This school is located north of Port au Prince in a rural area and is home to about 45 students. The money raised from the concert, along with pledges and donations from Grace Church parishioners, will go to the effort to better the conditions at the school.

Alice’s concert is just another lovely example of Arts Leadership by a From the Top alum.
