Where Are They Now?
It’s that time of year again – back to school – and for many From the Top alums, this means embarking on a new stage of their life: college! In honor of our higher-education-bound performers, we’ve compiled this quick update on where they’ll be this year. Please join us in wishing them well!
- Julian Langford (cello) and Danny Taubenheim (trumpet), both of whom played on From the Top at Northfield Mount Herman School in October 2008, are freshmen at The Juilliard School….and are roommates! Also at Juilliard are Yurie Mitsuhashi (violin), Kara Sainz (soprano), Caeli Smith (violin), Clare Semes (violin), and Alexandra Hoopes (violin).
- Ren Martin-Doike (violin), Matthew Lipman (viola), and Timothy Woos (composer) are at The Curtis Institute in Philadelphia
- Rainer Crosett (cello) and Sodie Finebone (tuba) are studying at New England Conservatory…right across the street from our From the Top office!
- Caroline Weeks (viola) has entered Indiana University to study viola performance at the Jacobs School of Music and may also double major in French.
- Aris Doike (cello) is attending Colorado University at Boulder.
- Joshua Jones (marimba) is going to DePaul University in Illinois.
- James Kim (cello) is studying at Yale University in Connecticut.
- Sisters Meredith and Rachel Kufchak (both viola) are attending Rice University in Texas. Also in the Lone Star State is Meekyoung Lee (flute), who’s studying at the University of Texas at Austin.
- Bryanne Presley is studying oboe performance at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
This is just a snippet of some of our alums – obviously we have a lot more out there! Did we miss you? Tell us where you are!
