Aika Oki (violin), 18, from Brookline, Massachusetts, is currently studying in the pre-college program at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Since 2022, she has studied under Professor Jason Horowitz and received mentorship from Professor Mauricio Fuks at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Aika is a prominent member of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she has served as Concertmaster since 2023.

Aika is a 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts semifinalist and a 2025 National YoungArts Winner with Distinction, earning an invitation to perform at the YoungArts Week Gala in Miami. Her recent achievements include the Jury’s Special Prize at the Victoria BCN International Violin Competition, where she was recognized by a jury led by Viktor Tretyakov and featured in The Violin Channel and The Strad. Additionally, she received the Young Talent Award at the 2024 Vienna New Year’s Concert International Music Competition and won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Boston Pops Fidelity Investments Young Artists Competition, which led to a solo performance with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall.

In recent years, Aika has spent her summers in Salzburg participating in the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University. She performed as a soloist at Solitär and participated in masterclasses with distinguished professors, including Christian Altenburger, Kirill Troussov, Alexander Gilman, and Paul Roczek.

Beyond the concert stage, Aika is committed to community engagement. She has performed in a chamber concert at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a charity concert benefiting The Boston House. As the Founder and Regional Director of the Back to Bach Project in Brookline, MA, she fosters appreciation for classical music among diverse audiences of all ages through educational YouTube videos and public library concerts.
