Meet Ori

Ori performs on Show 482.

Ori Krakowski (trumpet), 18, from Plano, Texas, is currently in her senior year at Plano West Senior High School. She serves as Principal Trumpet in the school’s Wind Ensemble and Marching Band, and performs in the Full Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra. She studies with Kevin Finamore, Assistant Principal of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Southern Methodist University.

Ori was a 2025 semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Competition and currently performs with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. Ori performed in the Texas All-State Orchestra and the Lone Star Youth Winds, with which she played at Carnegie Hall. Together with her school Jazz Orchestra, she performed a trumpet feature tune, “The Eighth Veil” at the prestigious Essentially Ellington International Jazz high school competition at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC.

Ori attended summer programs including Interlochen’s 6-week orchestra with a full-tuition scholarship and Boston University Tanglewood Institute.

Ori will be attending the Curtis Institute of Music this fall to continue her music education in Trumpet Performance with Professor Michael Sachs.

Ori loves trying new food, especially if it’s Korean. She enjoys making arts and crafts, traveling, building Lego, photography, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
