Meet Rashmi

Rashmi performs on Show 475.

Rashmi Chelliserry (flute), 17, is from San Diego, California, and a senior at Westview High School. She studies with Dr. Elena Yarritu and has previously trained with Vivian Bergova and Dr. September Payne.

Rashmi has studied the flute for nine years and has earned recognition at the regional, state, and international levels. She won the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, performing as a soloist in the winners’ recital at Carnegie Hall in New York, and was named MTAC VOCE State Intermediate Winds Winner as well as an MTAC Panel Finalist, selected among the top two flutists in California. She has also participated in the California All-State Honor Band and Northern California Flute Camp, and performed in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Jill Felber, Marianne Gedigian, and John Thorne.

Rashmi currently performs with the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra and serves as Flute Section Leader at Westview High School. Outside of music, she enjoys playing board games with her family, practicing meditation and yoga, and reading fantasy novels.
