Anahit (Aeon) Bashir (cello), 15, is a tenth grader at Stanford Online High school. He began his cello journey at age 4. He currently studies with Dr. David Holmes where he is flourishing his passion for music, improving cello performance and technique while discovering his unique style. He has studied with and appeared in masterclasses with Anthony Elloitt, Carey Cheney, Linc Smelser, Rick Mooney (late), and Kacy Clopton. Aeon has been performing with Minnesota Youth Symphonies for the past several years and enjoys being part of Artaria Chamber quartet. He has won awards in several competitions such as Crescendo International Competition, Elite International Music Competition, Golden Classical Competition, International Mozart Competition Vienna, Mary West Competition, American Protégé Competition, Schubert Club Scholarship Competition and has had the honor to perform at Carnegie Hall multiple times. He has been selected or invited to perform at honors recitals in American Suzuki Institute, Suzuki association conference, National cello Institute, and the Heifetz International Music Institute. He has had the privilege of performing Saint-Saens cello concerto as soloist with Minnesota Sinfonia orchestra. Aeon enjoys music composition, piano, reading, traveling, playing tennis and swimming.
