Anh Ho, Percussion
Meet Anh
Anh performs on Show 433.
Anh Ho (percussion), 16, lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his parents, older brother, and dog, Cutie. Anh is currently in his sophomore year at Collins Hill High School and is involved in several music ensembles, including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Atlanta Youth Percussion Ensemble (AYPE). In the past five years, Anh has had the opportunity to play with the Georgia Philharmonic, the GMEA All-State Band 2021 (2nd chair), 2022 (1st chair), and the World Youth Wind Symphony (2nd chair). Anh has been fortunate to study percussion with Brandon Kunka for over a year and recently also started private lessons with Bill Wilder, long-time member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. This past summer, Anh was awarded the Frederick Fennell Scholarship and the Maddy Summer Artist Award from the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, allowing him to participate in their summer music program on full scholarship. In 2020, Anh was selected as the winner of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra Solo Competition, resulting in a concerto performance with the Youth Orchestra that same year.
Aside from hitting instruments, Anh also loves hitting balls (tennis). He currently plays tennis for Collins Hill High School and is involved in the Georgia Gwinnett College Tennis Academy. When Anh is not hitting things, he enjoys coding, weightlifting, and eating.
Receiving the Award will allow Anh to purchase percussion instruments he will need for college and into his professional career. The scholarship funds will also allow him to travel to New York for private lessons at The Juilliard School.
