Alumni: How to Submit
Dear From the Top Alums:
Alumni are invited to submit content for Daily Joy. If you are a From the Top alum, please read the instructions below on how to be part of this video series.
We launched Daily Joy in 2020 for two reasons: (1) to give alumni a new platform to share their music, and, (2) to provide our community with a daily reminder of music’s unique power to inspire.
Daily Joy continues to thrive and we are thrilled to invite you to submit a video to be featured! All our Daily Joy videos are now shared at Daily-Joy.org as well as From the Top’s Facebook page. We also share excerpts on Instagram! Please visit and subscribe!
Each day, we send these bite-sized music videos to our subscribers via email and social media. To date, more than 600+ musicians have been featured and the videos have been viewed over 3> million times.
We’ve included information below as well as the link to submit your Daily Joy. If you have questions, please contact Libby Miserendino at lmiserendino@fromthetop.org.
- What to Submit
Daily Joy submissions include a performance of at least 60 seconds. You may also include a brief introduction if you choose!
- Performance Video: Videos can be as short as 60 seconds (i.e. a section of a work) OR longer (i.e. a full movement or work). You are welcome to submit a new video recording OR a pre-existing recording.
- Introduction: Include your name, instrument, age, and where you live/where you study. Share the title and composer/arranger and something about the work (i.e. why you enjoy performing it, the story of why it was composed, what an audience might find inspiring/joyful/meaningful about it, etc.)
*Please submit your performance and introduction as two separate video files.
- Recording Notes
Many Daily Joy submissions are recorded at home or in other casual settings. In addition, it is perfectly acceptable to record these on a smartphone or similar device. These videos are casual and personal ways to get to know you.
- Recording with horizontal orientation is preferred over vertical
- Please submit your introduction and performance videos as separate files with no text or video editing effects.

October
Halloween – Show us your favorite Halloween themed or spooky songs. Costumes not required but highly encouraged!
November
Thanksgiving – is a day about family. Serenade your family with a song and send us the video. Or dress up as a turkey and play Bach, the choice is yours!
Veterans Day – inspired to play something in honor of veterans? Show us!
December
Christmas – Set up some holiday lights, put on your best holiday garb and share your favorite holiday music.
January
Winter FUN! – send in your favorite winter themed songs or show us a backdrop of your snowy location as you play!
February
Valentine’s Day – have a favorite loved themed song? Send it in.
Super Bowl – Can you rock the super bowl anthem on your instrument? Know a song that captures the competitive spirit of the games? Like to eat nachos while you practice? Show us!
Mardi Gras – Send in a song that captures the Mardi Gras spirit, or simply have fun playing your favorite piece in a fun costume!
March
St. Patrick’s Day – Play an Irish dance, or just show us your best green outfit while you play!
Spring – There are so many music options to represent “Spring” show us your favorite, or simply play in a location that showcases a spring scene.
April
Earth Day – Celebrate the earth with a thoughtful song, beautiful location, or funny costume.
Easter/Passover – So much incredible music exists to honor these holidays, show us your favorite.
Siblings Day – Do you duet with your sibling? Show us! Do you prank or annoy your sibling with your playing? Show us!
May
Mother’s Day – Dedicate a performance to MOM!
Star Wars Day – May the 4th be with you! Hit us with a Star Wars inspired performance!
Cinco de Mayo – Do you have a latin themed piece that would fit this occasion? Send it our way!
National Teacher’s Day – Where would we be without our teachers?! Honor one of yours with a Daily Joy!
June
Father’s Day – Celebrate dear old Dad with a Daily Joy dedication!
Juneteenth – Do you have a song that represents freedom? Celebrate this historic day with a song!
Summer Solstice – What does the longest day of the year inspire you to play? Show us!
