Music Producer and Composer Has Best Week Ever
On Sunday, March 15, From the Top teamed up with Music Director JoAnn Falletta and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra for a live concert and taping of our radio show. The collaboration was exciting in many ways. Not only did it give our performers an opportunity to solo with a first class orchestra, it provided a unique experience for our Music Producer Tom Vignieri, who also happens to be an accomplished composer.
During the live concert, Tom’s piece “An American Hymn,” an homage to The Greatest Generation, was performed by the orchestra. JoAnn Falletta commented, “Every orchestra in America should be playing this.” Read the review from Sunday’s concert.
This weekend, Tom will experience the world premiere of his Fanfare of Voices by Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society. The piece, was commissioned by the Handel and Haydn Society to celebrate the 250th anniversary year of George Frideric Handel. It features four antiphonal choirs, trumpets, drums and organ and is set to words drawn from Ode to St. Cecilia’s Day by John Dryden.
Tom might be having the best week ever!
