Show 244 bio:
Johannes Gray (cello), 13, resides in Wilmette, Illinois and attends Wilmette Junior High School. He studies cello with Hans Jensen and Gilda Barston, and also attends the Music Institute of Chicago. He won a performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra after taking first prize in the 2011 Crain-Maling Foundation Chicago Symphony Orchestra Youth Auditions. Johannes has also taken master classes with Yo-Yo Ma, David Finckel, and Ralph Kirshbaum. When he’s not playing cello, Johannes enjoys reading Michael Crichton and spending time with his pet bird.
