David Yu (piano), 18, is a senior at Diamond Bar High School (DBHS) where he is the guest pianist, violinist, and the student conductor of DBHS Symphony Orchestra. He has won first place in Young Pianist, Open Solo, Open Chopin, and Open Concerto categories in Southwestern Youth Music Festival and first place in the Irvine Classical Music Series Competition. With his love of piano concerti, he has performed with SYMF Orchestra, Antelope Valley Symphony, Korean American Symphony, and DBHS Symphony Orchestra, where he made his conducting debut with the Beethoven 5th Symphony two years ago. David currently studies with pianist Norman Krieger.
