Meet Oscar
Oscar performed on Show 296, recorded in Washington, DC, on October 24, 2014. Most recently, he participated in the “This Land/Our Land” project, released in July of 2017.
2014 bio:
Oscar Paz-Suaznabar (piano), 8, is from Alexandria, Virginia, and attends the Langley School. Oscar studies with Dr. Marjorie Lee and is a recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. He is a first-prize winner of the NVMTA Robert Spencer Piano Concerto Competition, the Asian American Music Society Competition, the American Protégé Competition at Carnegie Hall, and more. Oscar has performed at the Austrian, Swiss, Russian, and French Embassies in Washington, DC, and at the Hungarian Embassy in New York. Outside of music, Oscar enjoys writing and reading about mythology, space, and history. His favorite board games are Life, Stratego, and chess.
