This week, from Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, you’ll meet a 16-year-old French horn player with an inspirational story to tell and a teenage trio comprised of students from Interlochen Arts Academy. And it’s all guitar during the second half of the show, when legendary guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening presents two outstanding young players.

Guitarist Carlo Carrieri, 18, originally from Pisa, Italy, and studying in Malibu, CA, performs Capriccio Diabolico by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco
Guitarist Timothy Callobre, 13 from Pasadena, CA plays “La Catedral” by Agustín Barrios Mangoré
Timothy Callobre and Carlo Carrieri play “Le Rossignol” (The Nightingale) from the Jane Pickering Lute Book, transcribed by Russ/Parkening, and El Paño moruno, a traditional arranged by Len Williams
