From Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center in Georgia, this week’s line up of outstanding young musicians includes the fabulous Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra performing Wagner and a 17-year-old violinist from North Carolina playing a graceful rag by William Bolcom. Also, Roving Reporter Tajah Coleman-Jones talks opera with a talented teenage tenor.

Performers and Repertoire:

The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, ages 13–18, performs Prelude from Act III of “Lohengrin” by Richard Wagner.

Tenor James Danner, 16, from New York, NY, performs “Où voulez-vous aller?” by Charles-François Gounod

Pianist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Yuqing “Damen” Meng, 16, from Madison, NJ, performs Toccata by York Bowen

Violinist Stefani Collins, 17, from Summerfield, NC, performs “Graceful Ghost Rag” by William Bolcom

Cellist Gabriel Cabezas, 14, from Wilmette, IL, performs III. Andante from the Sonata in G minor, Op.19 by Sergei Rachmaninoff

The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra performs I. All American City from Symphony X (The Big D) by Don Gillis
