This week, from the William Charles Lunalilo Center at the Kamehameha School in Kea’au, Hawaii, you’ll be treated to traditional slack key guitar music played by a talented teenager from Hawaii Island as well as performances by a 14-year-old pianist from Oahu who has to fight his cousins to practice and a 17-year-flutist from back on the mainland who may be playing the wrong instrument.

Pianist Evan Lin, 14, from Pearl City, HI, performs IV. Vivace from Sonata No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 14 by Sergei Prokofiev

Flutist Lilia Xie, flute, 16 from Holmdel, NJ, performs IV. Allegro con moto from Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 94 by Robert Muczynski

Slack key guitarist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Sean Robbins, 16 from Pahoa, HI, performs “Ku’u Ipo Onaona” by Maddy Lam

Cellist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Aris Doike, 17 from Honolulu, HI, performs Requiebros by Gaspar Cassado
