Please keep in mind that the earlier you apply, the more time we have to consider you for placement in the 2023-2024 season.

What is my application type?
- Soloist: I am an instrumental soloist, vocalist, or composer
Select: “Soloist” - Small Ensemble Leader: I am a leader of a small ensemble (8 or fewer members)
- Large Ensemble Director: I am the director of a large ensemble (9 or more members)
What should I know if I’m applying as part of an ensemble?
- If you are part of a small ensemble:
- Please choose one member to serve as your Small Ensemble Leader. This person will serve as the main point of contact for your ensemble and will also be asked to pay an application fee on behalf of your small ensemble at the end of the application.
- In the application, your Small Ensemble Leader will be asked to provide information about your ensemble (such as the other ensemble members’ names, emails, and instruments, as well as your ensemble’s name).
- Once the Small Ensemble Leader’s application has been submitted, the remaining small ensemble members will each receive an emailed link to a supplemental form to complete.
- If you are the Director of a large ensemble:
- Please fill out your own personal information in the very first section of the application. In the following sections, you will be able to provide information about your large ensemble, as well as answer some questions regarding your large ensemble’s experiences. Please note that you will also be asked to pay an application fee on behalf of your large ensemble at the end of the application.
*If you or any of your ensemble members are wishing also to apply for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, please contact us first at scholarship@fromthetop.org for instructions.
What do I do if I would like to be considered for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award?
- Please fill out the Learning and Media Lab Fellowship Application. Towards the end of the application, you will be asked questions to determine your eligibility for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be permitted to move forward in applying for the Award.
- After clicking “next”, you will be directed to a new page, and will receive an email with the link to your Scholarship Supplement Form with instructions.
If I have applied in the past, how can I reapply?

What’s my application type?

- Large ensemble representative: I am the leader of a large ensemble (9 or more members)
How do I finalize my application?
- At the very end of your application, you will have the opportunity to review your application and check for errors.
- You will then select whether you would also like to be considered for our need-based award, the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award.
- If submitting a standard application, you will be asked to pay an application fee ($70 USD).
- This application fee is paid using Stripe, which provides a secure way to enter your debit or credit card information for payment.
- Please note that the $70 application fee does not apply to Virtual Live Audition applicants or to Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award applicants.
- If the application fee is a barrier to you, please contact us or look into applying for our need-based scholarship, the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award.
- This application fee is paid using Stripe, which provides a secure way to enter your debit or credit card information for payment.
- Submit your application!
- Once your application is fully submitted, you will see a screen thanking you for your submission, as well as an automatic email confirming your submission. If you do not receive either of these notifications, please contact us at auditions@fromthetop.org so that we can check on your application for you.
Please note: Submitting your application will finalize your application and you will no longer be able to edit any information.
